5 Misconceptions about Food: #4

“Healthy Foods are Boring”-

Today, there are a number of health stores, health books and recipes available to make eating healthy a pleasure, it just takes some time and practice but it’s for your health which will impact everything you do! Experiment with a variety of different foods and methods of cooking. Be innovative. Learn to be creative. At mealtimes make sure your meals both look and taste appetizing. For example, use whole grains in any recipe instead of white flour, pasta or rice; try using herbs, spices and seasonings instead of fat and oils; use all natural, healthy fats and sugars such as olive oil and raw sugar. Try using less of both every now and then. Eating more fruits and vegetables can be easy if you know how to incorporate them. For example, making a vegetable omelet in the morning, a sandwich or wrap stuffed with spinach or dark leafy greens, have fruit for a snack, or make a dessert with it such as baked apples, pears with cinnamon, or fresh fruit with plain Greek yogurt. Start small, and have fun! It’s up to you to make the effort – and then you will never say the word “boring” again.
