Is your health one of your priorities?
How much “me” time do you set aside each week? You may think it is selfish if you have daily “me” time however the truth of the matter is that those around you truly benefit from you taking time out for yourself. Personal time can deliver big dividends if spent feeding yourself in healthy activities: physical, mental, emotional, nutritional, and spiritual. Everything we do at work or at home seems to be focused helping others.
“You must be physically, mentally and spiritually fit in order to help others.”
Think about it, if you do not schedule time to take care of your health, how much effort can you truly put into: parenting, marriage, friendship, career, and colleagues? If you are not taking the necessary “me” time you may experience the following symptoms:
Sound familiar? What about the statement: “There is never enough time in the day for…”
It’s not that we don’t have the time, rather we do not choose to take the time.
Put health on your schedule! Carve out time every day to exercise as it is fundamental to your well-being. Three days of resistance training and six days of cardiovascular training per week can produce significant changes in your overall cognitive and physical health. You will see many physiological improvements. (Increased cardiovascular reserves, increased aerobic capacity, a “clear head” from endorphins released by the brain during physical exercise, improved immune system, more energy overall, more active libido, emotional consistency, confidence, and much more.)
The majority of medical / health professionals believe “ME” time is one of the most important things you can do to boost your overall health and wellbeing, which makes you more able to positively affect those around you.
“ME” time, make it a priority, your health and well-being depend on it!
